Masych Andromeda, how much pain there is in these words, how many negative reviews I saw and at some point I thought about not playing at all, but until you try you won’t know and I always want to have my opinion about the product. So I finally waited for the discount and bought this space opera spin-off for my pussy. I just finished an amazing trilogy and just wrote down my personal review and opinion here as a fan of the series (I will be glad if you read it because it will help to understand this review too). I lowered my expectations as much as possible, and as it usually happens, when you don’t expect anything, suddenly games know how to pleasantly surprise you. I may now say a terrible thing, but I liked Andromeda more than mass effect 2 (why I don’t like it at all, I already wrote in the previous article) in short, it has a better plot, missions, gameplay, locations, planets, there is “Mako”. Let’s start with the plot… He’s normal. There is an epic, there are cool staged scenes, there are good dialogues and, in principle, memorable moments. I wouldn’t say that it’s cool or good, but it’s not bad, everything is global and mass effects, in fact it’s very reminiscent of the first part of the trilogy.
The characters here are so good. My main complaint is that Gg is deprived of any charisma or charm. He’s boring and his teammates look much more interesting compared to him. They are in perfect order, but this is secondary and almost every character in the team is either a parody or a replacement for characters from the original trilogy. Only the characters change places. Turian acts like Miranda, and our sexy Asari looks like a joker. But they are all interesting to watch. And side missions for partners are enjoyable, which cannot be said about the other side missions because in rare cases they are all boring, fortunately no one forces them to complete them all. There is no grind in the game like in most modern games and this is good, leveling up is not so important for a smooth passage of the plot.
So, about the gameplay, since there is such a party here, if not yet, then it’s time to go get a beer. The gameplay is the best in the series: intense battles, fast and adrenaline-filled, pleasant weapons and shooting, a variety of fighting styles and the ability to customize everything for yourself, the game no longer limits you to one class, but gives you the opportunity to combine, verticality. In general, I won’t even talk for a long time, the combat is great, the animations are nice (except for the facial ones), interacting with the world is also nice.Peace to the world, let’s talk about locations and surroundings.
In this regard, I would say that the game is amazing, the planets are open, beautiful, interesting to explore, there are many different additional activities, but not intrusive and for some reason they pulled me in. That is, you are traveling like this with your brothers or sisters and then bam – a refugee camp, you need to save the gymnast’s brother, you go to save, and on the way you also meet a memory mark, you pick it up, save your brother, return, and they are already organizing attacks on the enemy’s main base and you are going to help them. You destroy everyone, along the way you find a relic, solve a puzzle, terraform the climate on the planet, and then you realize that you were only going to complete your partner’s task, and there is also a main story quest on this planet, it’s a blast. Plus the planets are very atmospheric, there is a variety of biomes: deserts, jungles, savannas, snowy planets.
The graphics, it seems to me, let us down, the planets are very beautiful, but the graphics themselves, if you look at everything up close, are very soapy, especially the characters and faces turned out to be some kind of toys, and the new races by design, well, I don’t know… It would be better if they weren’t added, otherwise it just looks terrible and mediocre.
The bottom line is this: Masych Andromeda is an awesome game with its own problems, the plot is ordinary and secondary like the partners, but not bad, the gameplay is very cool and even the best in the series, the exploration of the world is also excellent, the graphics are controversial, but the planets are beautiful and atmospheric, there is an epic quality and scope and many memorable scenes and moments, so my personal rating is 7.5 out of 10!
